My Starbucks Addiction

Somehow over the past few months have developed an addiction to my morning trip to Starbucks. About 2 years ago I couldn't stand coffee (loved the smell, didn't care for the taste) and now I can't seem to start my workday without my morning latte. How did this come to be exactly? I think I might be more addicted to the routine then the latte though. Every morning I start my day with a trip to the Starbucks in the parking garage and get a non-fat grande vanilla latte (I will admit that I don't like the fact that it takes that many words to order my coffee, this should really be able to be done in 3 words or less). I never half to order because the two girls that work there know me and my order, so as soon as they see me walk in the are starting my drink (which actually makes the long name okay since I don't usually have to say it). Weekends are another story altogether though. I don't need or crave the latte on the weekends. Now, if I was addicted to the latte, then it would stand to reason that I would need crave it on the weekends as well - however, no craving exists! For that matter, if I have a weekday off there are no cravings. So, for this reason I feel that I am more addicted to the routine of the Starbucks trip then the actually coffee itself. That being said, I still can't seem to break myself of my habit, and some seem to agree with that sentiment. So, next week will be the test for me. I'm taking the week off and my intentions are to not have a latte all week. This may not be that good of a test though since I won't be working and the routine of how I start my workday seems to be where this addiction stems from. Its a start though.
