Eternal Sunshine...
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I was fortunate enough to get to dine at Mike & Kristen's yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed a great meal! We sat around watching Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind after diner, which was a great movie. I wasn't really digging it for the first half, but then really started to enjoy it as I started to realize where he was going with it.
Definitely an interesting concept to erase someone, or something from your mind. I know that are certainly experiences in my life that I would just assume forget about, but then at the same time they shape who you are. This movie also made me think of Run Lola Run which depicts how everything that happens in your life brings you to where you are. Even the smallest details can play a major role in the outcome.
You should definitely check them both out if you haven't seen either. I feel like I need to watch the first half of Eternal Sunshine again though. Didn't quite get into it at first.
I'll leave you with the piece from Alexander Pope's "Eloisa to Abelard" in which the title was taken:
How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd
Cheers

Happy Turkey Day!!
Hope the holiday finds you well and soundly sleeping on the couch while watching the football game of your choice. I actually slept in this morning and it felt great! It was only until 10, and still woke up at 7:30, but nonetheless!
I've made a new addition to my blog links. Blair had clicked from mine to Ben's, from Ben's to Pete's, and thus found Zach Braff's blog (which I've now added to my links). He apparently started the blog to help promote Garden State and it definitely has some great stuff in it. While perusing it last night I came across recommendations for two different artists that I will definitely be purchasing tomorrow.
Ray LaMontange
You can check out 3 of his songs on his website.
Joshua Radin
You can listen to "Winter" on his site.
Of course, let us not forget what we are most thankful for this week!
I feel like I should be doing something with myself today, but I have no motivation to do so. I haven't run since Sunday, and pretty sure its not going to happen today. The Half may not be happening due to my lack of motivation.
I'm looking forward to some good turkey and a nap, maybe watch a movie tonite. Tragically though, I'll be back at work tomorrow. I'm actually good with that though. I'd rather be at work then sitting around the house.
Hope the tryptophan is treating you well! Cheers!

Its Almost Thanksgiving Break... OR NOT!
So, I've had to listen to everybody talk about how they only have to work a couple days this week before their 4-5 day Thanksgiving weekend, but not so much for me. I'll be at work everyday this week except Thursday and tragically I'll have to go into the office for a while on both Sat and Sunday next weekend. Oh well. I'm kind of good with working the hours right now. To be honest I'd rather be at the office then not right now.
Tracey and I went to see Motorcycle Diaries today. Wonderful film. I was actually shocked that it was in Waco at all. I really thought I would have to go to Austin or Dallas to catch it. I highly recommend this one. Its the story of journey that Ernesto Guevera took in his early twenties. They spent about six months traveling South America on a bike and exploring, learning, absorbing, and understanding everything and everyone they encountered. Beautiful scenery, beautiful music, and a beautiful message. Highly recommended. My favorite part was the quote at the end of the trailers, "Let the world change you, and you can change the world.
Cheers
